Atari is the godfather of the modern gaming industry. They were founded back in 1972 with such creations such as Pong, Asteroids, and Centipede. They produced some of the earliest games and home systems including the Atari 2600. Well as of January 21, 2013, Atari has filed for bankruptcy and will be selling off their logos and games. Atari filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is their most strategic choice. They filed after a 50% decline in share price over the past year. They are looking for $5.25 million to keep the business alive. Looks like it's Game Over for Atari.
